Dog Training Tips
I love a well trained, happy, obedient dog. I guess most folks do. But sometimes getting to that point seems impossible. I hope I can take some of the mystery out of it for you in this section.I use, for the most part, operant conditioning when training my dogs and horses. This is the same method used to train dolphins, sea lions and killer whales at Sea World. Have you ever wondered how they did it? Do you remember them blowing the whistles and tossing the fish to the whales? It's all done through operant conditioning.
They use whistles and I use a clicker but it is the all the same. You may have heard this method referred to as "clicker training" that's because with dogs and horses we use clickers not whistles. If this all sounds foreign to you hang tight and read on. It will start to make sense, I promise!
